Emergent Insights is a brand of Emergent Praxis, run by Nori Nishigaya in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada (“we”). Nori Nishigaya is responsible for how we handle your information. Questions or requests go to support@emergentpraxis.io, or by mail to 6-2160 Highway 7, Suite 494, Vaughan, ON L4K 1W6, Canada.
What we collect
- Your interview. Your answers, your reactions to the type descriptions, any notes you add, and the report written from them. Answers can include personal things. Share only what you are comfortable sharing.
- Your email address, if you join the launch list, and, once checkout opens, the email you give at checkout.
- Payment details, once checkout opens. Stripe collects them. We never see your full card number.
- Technical records. Our hosting provider keeps request logs, including your IP address and the page address, for up to a day. Interview and report addresses contain your personal link, so treat them like a password. When you join the launch list we keep your IP address for one hour to stop abuse.
- Site visits. Vercel Web Analytics counts visits to the site. It sets no cookies. It records the page, the site you came from, your country, region and city, and your browser, operating system and device type. A repeat visit within 24 hours is recognised by a code made from your request; the code is discarded after 24 hours. It is not loaded for visitors in the European Economic Area, when your browser sends Global Privacy Control, or on interview, report and feedback pages.
- Daily totals. We count, per day, visits to the buy page, checkouts, purchases, refunds, interviews started and finished, reports, and AI costs. The totals hold no names, email addresses or answers.
- Ad source. If you reach the buy page from one of our ads or links, the source (for example “meta”) is recorded with your checkout at Stripe, and with your purchase if you buy.
The free library pages need nothing from you. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don’t sell or share your information for marketing.
How we use it
- To run your interview and write your report.
- To improve the interview. While it is in testing, interview transcripts are analysed by AI tools (Claude, made by Anthropic) for that purpose. No one at Emergent Praxis reads them. You can turn analysis of your interview off on your report page.
- To send the one launch email, if you joined the list, and receipts once checkout opens.
- To handle refunds and support requests.
- To see how the site is used and whether our ads pay for themselves. Only visit records, daily totals and ad sources are used for this, never your interview.
Who processes it for us
- Anthropic runs the AI that conducts the interview and writes the report. Anthropic deletes API inputs and outputs within 30 days and doesn’t use them to train its models by default. It may keep them longer, up to two years, if they are flagged under its usage policy.
- Vercel hosts the site and counts site visits (Web Analytics). Upstash stores interviews while they are kept (see below), and the daily totals.
- Kit holds the launch-list email addresses.
- Stripe will handle payments once checkout opens.
These services store and process data in the United States and other countries. While it is there, courts, law enforcement and national security authorities in those countries may be able to access it.
How long we keep it
- Your interview and report are deleted 30 days after the interview starts. This includes any copy we make while testing. Save your report as a PDF to keep it.
- Launch-list addresses stay until you unsubscribe, which you can do from any email.
- Feedback you send after an interview is kept for up to 12 months, separately from the interview, and quoted only with your permission.
- Payment and refund records are kept as long as tax law requires.
- Daily totals are kept for 400 days.
- Vercel keeps site-visit records for at least 12 months and may keep them longer.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, including having an interview deleted before the 30 days are up. Email support@emergentpraxis.io and include your interview link or email address so we can find it. We reply within 30 days.
We honour Global Privacy Control: when your browser sends it, Vercel Web Analytics is not loaded. To turn off site analytics, use the link at the foot of any page or turn on Global Privacy Control.
If you’re in the EU or UK: we run your interview because you asked us to (our contract with you), and we analyse transcripts with AI during testing and send the launch email because you agreed. You can withdraw that agreement at any time. We keep daily totals, record the ad source of a purchase and count site visits on the basis of our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used and whether our ads pay for themselves. You can also ask for a copy of your data in a portable form, object to how we use it, or complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
If this changes, the new version goes on this page with a new date. See also the terms and the refund policy.
